I remember when I was in fourth grade dressing up as a werewolf for Halloween. I had this monster makeup book for kids that showed how to use regular makeup and spirit gum to glue fake hair to your face. It took me a long while to get it right and doing my best Lon Chaney jr / Larry Talbot I went out in search of candy. At one particular old lady's trailer we were invited in.
She proceeded to ask who I was under all that makeup - a big faux pas in my opinion. Then when I said she wouldn't know me - which was true - she started to pull off the hair to see who I was. Stupid bitch! How dare she ruin all my work?! Well I got out of there with minimal damage to my wolfishness. My father, who was with me, had been no help.
Later, after trick-or-treat was over and my parents went asleep I crept out of the house by the glimmer of the full moon. Sneaking ever so carefully despite being on a sugar rush back to the wretched hag's trailer I snuck in through an unlocked window. Plunging the blade of a butter knife over and over again into her pallid sagging flesh I muffled her screams with a needlepoint pillow I'd procured from her couch. I washed in her blood and finished off the left over trick-or-treat candy she had in her kitchen. The police found no evidence of foul play or arson in the charred remains of her trailer.
That was the best Halloween ever, and I think of it often while duct taping my victims mouths shut in my cellar.
