I have been using Wolfe Brothers makeup and my actor have been very pleased. However in Vegas this year we meet so many co's trying to get us to use the airbrush brand. We have about 4 guns but cannot choose a paint. We are expecting about 35-40 actors and if I could find some stencils to help speed things along this would help make my nights less stressful. Any suggestions welcomed. TC

I highly recommend Graftobian's airbrush makeup. It is a little on the expensive side, but it comes in a plethora of colors and it doesn't come off with sweat. It has a super light consistancy (doesn't feel cakey on the skin) and it doesn't crack or fade the other types of airbrush makeup.

I am still learning how to use just a sponge and brush.. but I also hear that Graftobians products are good...

Graftobian is great, but it's expensive as well... As a haunt MUA "Make-up Artist" I use it when I can... I've not used Nick Wolfe's product but knowing him it's bound to be good. But even when you can't afford the premo stuff, I can do an awful lot with Merhon liquid and Ben Nye. Often it's not the product, it's the artist that can make it work. Premo product and tools just help.

As to your Haunt just having 4 guns... There is no reason for that... I have one main gravity feed detail gun... My Grex Tritum. 2 work horse Guns Passhe's... A Mini Sprayer for doing base coats super fast and super even. Then 5 junk guns for color I don't use that often. The Mini sprayer and the junk guns are central Pneumatic I got them From Harbor Freight tools. for about $15 each, and they are throw aways to get me through a season. A stark comparison to the almost $300 I spent for the Grex and Grex equipment. Still you don't have to spend that much for a detail brush. If you watch the Hobby Lobby coupons you can find a gravity feed Iwata for 40 to 50% off... Around $60.00 or so...

As for Stencils.... Yes they are great time savers when you are cranking out so many people so fast. I am working on making a line of stencils for the Haunt Industry... I can tell you what I have so far, or you can tel me what you need and I'll design something for it. But they will cost$$

My observation has been as long as it is a labor of love it doesn't matter if it's a crew or the actors. The actors will become just as good as a crew especially if they are working on it regularly and go to the conventions. The crew if they don't h…
