The Future of Haunted Attractions
Hey guys and gals, My name is Milton and Im from haunted NJ (yeah right) .. anyway, I am completely obsessed and in love with the haunt industry. Its all i think about from the time i get up to the time i go to bed. Only problem is, im 18 years old and there is really no action here in NJ. I can act, build props, do makeup.. i got it all but my talent isnt goin to any use. I believe i am the future of haunting, i am detirmined to make this industry my profession in life. So i have a question for all you owners out there.. how can one like myself get involved professionaly in the haunt industry????? and how do i start???
by the way, ive been acting for 5 years in local haunts (volunteer work)...constructing my own home haunt for 3 years... and i just learned how set build last year so im not inexperienced.

If you are truly as passionate as you sound then you may have to volunteer at a haunt first to get in the door. Also get some stuff together like photos and ideas and post them on your page here at Haunt Universe. You'd be surprised at who might be interested. I've met some great people here and talented who I really hope to work with. Don't ever give up the dream.

Never volunteer unless you are trying to get a haunt off the ground or it is a charity haunt. If they are an established, professional haunt and they aren't paying you, keep on walking, they are just trying to get free labor and that is sleazy. Even if it is minimum wage, it is something, but don't volunteer if it is a for profit haunt.
